It’s said that moss doesn’t grow on rolling stones.
The operators of the Rockill Quarry would like to find out if that’s true.
Earlier this year, quarry operator Richard E. Pierson Materials controversially began blasting and crushing rock at the quarry in East Rockhill for the first time in decades, after the state Department of Environmental Protection signed off on it. But the newly crushed rocks have remained on site, as the township has denied the company the permits it needs to truck it away.
Public legal jousting over the issue began Wednesday night, when about 175 residents filed into Pennridge High School auditorium for an East Rockhill Zoning Hearing Board meeting.
