REPA Invests in Expert regarding serious ASBESTOS CONCERNS

ASBESTOS has been confirmed at the Rockhill Quarry (in East Rockhill Township, Bucks County, PA), and operations have temporarily ceased until a DEP approved asbestos mitigation plan is put in place. DEP has allowed Quarry Operators to hire their own specialist, EarthRes, to conduct their own testing and develop their own asbestos mitigation plan. The proposed self-monitoring and mitigation plan submitted by EarthRes to the DEP for approval raises many serious concerns in the community.

REPA has TAKEN ACTION to protect the health and wellbeing of our residents and their families. Asbestos being airborne is something that is beyond serious… for your lungs as well as the little lungs that are running around in our yards and playgrounds at our schools in the area. REPA felt it was imperative to hire a QUALIFIED expert to review the plans. We went through an extensive vetting process and hired an extremely competent Geologist with 30 years experience in the asbestos, mining and regulatory fields. Our expert’s thorough review of the EarthRes plan produced multiple reports that revealed many troubling inadequacies in the plan. We have shared our geologist’s reports with the DEP and our legislators.
